বৃহত্তর নোয়াখালী, ফেনী ও লক্ষ্মীপুর জেলা-উপজেলার কৃষি সম্প্রসারণ অধিদপ্তরের  কর্মকর্তাদের  মতবিনিময় সভা  এবং  বছর ব্যাপি ফল উৎপাদনের মাধ্যমে পুষ্টি উন্নয়ন প্রকল্পের আওতায় ৬০ জন কৃষকের প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মশালা  অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।

আজ শনিবার সকালে নোয়াখালী সদর উপজেলার পূর্ব শুল্লকিয়া হটিকালচার সেন্টারে  এ অনুষ্ঠানে   প্রধান অতিথি ছিলেন প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মশালা অনুষ্ঠিত কৃষি সম্প্রসারণ অধিদপ্তরের মহাপরিচালক কৃষিবিদ মোঃ আসাদুল্লাহ।

কৃষি সম্প্রসারণ অধিদপ্তরের চট্টগ্রাম বিভাগের অতিরিক্ত পরিচালক কৃষিবিদ মোঃ মঞ্জুর হুদার সভাপতিত্বে  এতে বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে হটিকালচার উইং কৃষি সম্প্রসারণ অধিদপ্তর ঢাকার পরিচালক দিলরুবা আখতার।

এ সময় নোয়াখালী কৃষি অধিদপ্তরের উপ-পরিচালক মোঃ শহীদুল হক, ফেনী উপ-পরিচালক  এতেসামুল রাতুল হায়দার ও  লক্ষ্মীপুরের উপ-পরিচালক  মো, জাকির হোসেনসহ অন্য কর্মকর্তরা    উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

মতবিনিময় সভা ও প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মশালা  ছাড়াও   নার্সারী পরিদর্শন করেন  অতিথিরা । পরে তারা  হাতিয়া উপজেলার  কৃষি কার্যক্রম নিয়ে মতবিনিময়  সভা ও  বিভিন্ন নার্সারি পরিদর্শন করেন।

সদর উপজেলা কৃষি কর্মকর্তা কৃষিবিদ মোঃ মোশরেফুল হাসান জানান, বৃহত্তর নোয়াখালী বাসির দাবীর প্রেক্ষীতে ২০১৩ সালে কৃষি সম্প্রসারণ অধিদপ্তরের অধীনে সদর উপজেলার পূর্ব শুল্লকিয়া হটিকালচার সেন্টারটি স্থাপিত হয়। যার জমির পরিমান ২০ একর ৯২ শতক। তিনি আরো জানান, নোয়াখালী লক্ষ¥ীপুর ও চাঁদপুর জেলার কৃষকদের জন্য এটি একমাত্র সরকারী হটিকালচার সেন্টার। যেখান থেকে ফল বাগান স্থাপন ও ব্যবস্থাপনা বিষয়ে কৃষক প্রশিক্ষণ সহ সরকারী মূল্য সঠিক জাতের চারা বিক্রি করা হয়ে থাকে।  এখানে মাতৃবাগান, দেশী-বিদেশী উন্নতজাতের ফলের চারা রয়েছে। এছাড়া দেশীয় ও ভেষজ উদ্ভিদের চারা রয়েছে।  তিনি আরো জানান, প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মশালায়  স্থানীয় কৃষকগন হটিকালচার সেন্টারের মাধ্যমে কৃষক পর্যায়ে আরো সুবিধা বৃদ্ধির  দাবী জানিয়েছেন।
