উপজেলায় এমন এক আড়ম্বরপূর্ণ অনুষ্ঠানকে ঘিরে বিদ্যালয়ের সাবেক শিক্ষার্থীরা দিনব্যাপী এক আনন্দঘন মুহূর্ত কাটিয়েছেন।
গৌরবের ৫৮ বছর ফেরিয়ে বিদ্যালয়ের সেই পরিচিত মুখ গুলো কাছে পেয়ে আবেগে আপ্লুত হয়ে পড়েন পুরোনো সব শিক্ষার্থীরা। সবাই যেন খুঁজে ফিরছিলেন পুরনো সে সব স্মৃতি। গানে, আড্ডায়, স্মৃতিচারণে মুখরিত হয়ে ওঠে ছৈয়দিয়া হাইস্কুল প্রাঙ্গণ।
নজরুল ইসলাম জেবু খানের সভাপতিত্বে ও সাইমুন হোসেন সবুজের সঞ্চালনায় সংবর্ধনা অনুষ্ঠানে বিদায়ী শিক্ষকদের স্মৃতিচারণ করে বক্তব্য দেন- হাতিয়া উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা মো: ইবনে আল জায়েদ হোসেন, সহকারী কমিশনার (ভূমি) মং এছেন, ছৈয়দিয়া উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ের সাবেক প্রধান শিক্ষক মোঃ গিয়াস উদ্দিন, সাবেক সহকারী শিক্ষক মহিম চন্দ্র দাস, হারুণ অর রশিদ সেলিম, লোকেশ চন্দ্র দাস,বঙ্কিম চন্দ্র দাস, আবুল কালাম আজাদ এবং প্রাক্তণ শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে আনোয়ার হোসেন ও ছায়েদ আহমেদ প্রমুখ।
বক্তারা এসময় বিদ্যালয়ের বিদায়ী শিক্ষকদের সঙ্গে বর্ণাঢ্য কর্ম ও শিক্ষা জীবনের আবেগঘন স্মৃতিচারণ করেন। এছাড়া উক্ত বিদ্যালয়ের পুরোনো ঐতিহ্য ফিরিয়ে আনা, শিক্ষার গুণগত মান বৃদ্ধি, শিক্ষার সুষ্ঠু পরিবেশ এবং সমাজ-রাষ্ট্রের প্রতি নিজেদের দায়িত্বশীল হওয়ারও আহবান ।
প্রাক্তণ শিক্ষার্থী আনোয়ার হোসেন ও ছায়েদ আহমেদ বুদ্ধিজীবী দিবস স্মরণে দেশমাতৃকার বীর সেনানীদের প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা জ্ঞাপন করেন।
বিদায়ী সংবর্ধনায় সম্মাননা ক্রেস্ট গ্রহন করেন অবসরপ্রাপ্ত সাবেক প্রধান শিক্ষক মো: গিয়াস উদ্দিন, তপেশ চন্দ্র রায়, আব্দুস সহিদ, মো: লুৎফুল কবির,হারুন অর রশিদ, আজহার উদ্দিন, লোকেশ চন্দ্র দাস ও বঙ্কিম চন্দ্র দাস।
এতে শিক্ষক- শিক্ষার্থী, অতিথিবৃন্দ ও সাংবাদিক’রা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
এর আগে পবিত্র কুরআন তেলাওয়াতের মধ্য দিয়ে অনুষ্ঠানের কার্যক্রম শুরু হয়। পরে প্রধান শিক্ষক মোজাহেদুল ইসলামের স্বাগত বক্তব্য শেষে যেসব শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থীরা মৃত্যুবরণ করেছেন তাদের আত্মার শান্তি কামনা করা হয়।
এদিকে, বিদায়ী সংবর্ধনা শেষে বিকেল থেকে শুরু হয়েছে প্রাক্তন শিক্ষার্থীদের পুনর্মিলনী অনুষ্ঠানের কার্যক্রম। কবিতা আবৃতি ও সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানসহ চলছে উৎসবের নানান আয়োজন।
উল্লেখ্য, ১৯৬৬ সালে হাইস্কুলটি প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন প্রয়াত শিক্ষানুরাগী মাছউদল হক খান। অনুষ্ঠানে ১৯৭০ সাল থেকে বর্তমান পর্যন্ত মোট ৫৪ টি (এসএসসি) ব্যাচের শিক্ষার্থী অংশ গ্রহন করে। এতে প্রায় দেড় হাজার শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থী এবং অতিথি উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
